The question I get most at the booth is not about the art. It is some version of this:
"Will this survive the dishwasher?"
Short answer: yes, if you put it on right. Long answer below, because there is real difference between vinyl types and most people have been burned by a cheap sticker that curled up and died in three weeks.
Street Rebirth stickers are printed on premium weatherproof vinyl, not paper and not the thin coated stock you get in a party favor bag. Three properties matter:
Waterproof. The vinyl itself does not absorb water. A paper sticker with a gloss coat will wick moisture through the edges and lift... vinyl has nothing to absorb.
UV resistant. This is the one people skip and then regret. Ink that is not UV stable will fade to a washed-out ghost after one summer on a car window or a bottle that lives in your cup holder. These hold their color.
Scratch resistant. A laminate layer sits over the print, so keys in a bag, a backpack zipper or a skateboard scuff hits the laminate instead of the ink.
Standard size is 4 inches unless a listing says otherwise, and a few run larger or in a holographic finish. The Details section on each product tells you which.
Ninety percent of sticker failures are application failures, not product failures. Four steps:
1. Clean the surface. Rubbing alcohol on a paper towel, then let it dry completely. Not soap... soap leaves a film, and adhesive does not grip film. Skip this step on a new water bottle and you are sticking to factory residue instead of metal.
2. Make sure it is dry. Fully dry. Cold surfaces sweat, so if a bottle just came out of the fridge, give it ten minutes.
3. Press from the center outward. Lay the middle down first and push air toward the edges with your thumb. Starting at a corner traps bubbles you can never get back out.
4. Wait 24 hours. This is the step everybody skips. Adhesive needs time to fully bond. Do not wash it, soak it, or run it through anything for a full day. This single step is the difference between three months and three years.
Water bottles and tumblers are the number one place these end up, and curves need a small adjustment.
On a tight curve, press the center down and work outward in a cross pattern... top, bottom, then both sides. If you work around in a circle you will get a ripple on the last edge. For a very narrow bottle, a little warmth from your hands makes the vinyl more willing to conform.
Dishwashers: a properly applied sticker survives a dishwasher, but the top rack is far kinder than the bottom, and hand washing is kinder than both. High-heat sanitize cycles are the real enemy, not the water.
Cars: these hold up through weather and automatic car washes. Apply on a warm dry day, never in direct sun on a hot panel, because heat makes the adhesive grab before you have positioned it.
Laptops and phones: no special care. They come off cleanly later if you want to change your setup.
Skateboards, coolers, helmets, toolboxes: all fine. This is what weatherproof vinyl was built for.
Warm it first. A hair dryer on low for thirty seconds softens the adhesive, then peel slowly at a low angle rather than yanking it straight up. Any residue comes off with rubbing alcohol or an adhesive remover.
Do not use a blade on a laptop lid or a painted surface. You will win the fight with the sticker and lose the finish.
Since it comes up in the same breath: Street Rebirth shirts are DTG printed, meaning the ink goes into the fabric rather than sitting on top as a plastic layer. That is why they stay soft and do not crack the way a heat-pressed graphic does.
White shirts need no special handling. Black shirts are printed over a white ink underbase to make the colors pop, which makes the print more delicate... wash them inside out, cold, gentle cycle, and hang dry or tumble low. No bleach, no ironing directly on the print.
A $1 sticker and a $5 sticker are not the same object. The gap is the vinyl, the UV-stable ink and the laminate, and it shows up at month six, not week one.
